i dual boot windows xp and opensuse 10.3 i listen to music alot and discoverd there is this program called musicmatch jukebox it has the best sound quality even better than windows media player when i came to amarok i realised gstreamer is louder than the xine engine but the quality still not as good as musicmatch althogh xine has alsa and oss i was wondering are there any other engines or if there was a way to tweak these for optimum sound without touching the equaliser thanx

I have a similar problem with amarok 1.4 in opensuse. The audio quality is downright awful. I'm no audiophile, but i can hear noise and crackling sounds. it gets really annoying. It's got to me something wrong with amarok or gstreamer since the quality and volume are fine when i listen to the same mp3 with realplayer
