    openSUSE 10.3 install help

    HI there

I am new to the forums.

I downloaded OpenSUSE 10.3 to install on a Dell Inspiron 600m Laptop
    I have an installation problem.

after the install when it reboots

    i get this

fsck failed. Please REpair Manually and reboot. The root file system is currently mounted read-only. To remount it read-write do:

    bash# mount -n remount,rw /

Attention: Only control-d will reboot the system in this maintanance mode. shutdown or reboot will not work

Please enter for login: (i diden't have a login name yet so i just hit enter)
    (repair filesystem) # _(blinking curser)

So i run that command this is what i get
EXT-3-fs warning: mount fs with errors, running e2fsck is recommended
EXT3 FS on sda2, internal journal

    any suggestions?
    thanks
    vince

It might be a bad disk. If you still have the ISO try writing it to disk again at a very slow speed and then reinstall. I've reinstalled openSUSE quite a few times and not had a problem.

Adding users and hardware configuration is usually done after the installtion and you have booted into the newly install OS for the first time.

    Okay
I'm even getting to that point then

that last part i am getting to is the reboot point and theres is where i am getting that problem originally posted.

I will try to re-burn the iso at a slower format

and let you know what happends
    thanks!
