Thumbs down How to resize in opensuze 10.3

    Hi everyone,

I have window xp and opensuse 10.3 on my pc. I need to resize /home and add some of its space to the window xp. I wanted to do this with partitioner, but the following message was shown :

    unmount the file system

I do not know how to do this.

I will appreciate if everyone can help me to handle this problem.

    Thanks in advance

    Bests... Mostafa

Open Konsole (or any other terminal console you might use) and do the following:
    Code:
    su
    root password
umount /the appropriate device or partition name
Make a backup, though. You need to be very wary of resizing partitions.

I personally recommend using the PartedMagic LiveCD to work with your partitions. It's a small download and quick burn to CD, and you won't be bothered with the above errors. It can easily handle this job.

Sorry, I didn't read your question properly. Yast won't let you resize an existing partition anyway from within openSUSe.
Ozar's advice is best but I would still be very careful and back up. I tried a resize last year and GParted couldn't do it and screwed up my /home folder.
