[SOLVED] Problem with Suse 10.3 with BIOSTAR motherboard and nVIDIA GEFORCE 6100 chip
Hi everybody,
Suse 10.3 does not install properly with the above hardware along with 80 GB seagate SATA HDD. After completion of the first installation resolution becomes large and cannot be changed. Cannot be logged in to the system either.
Any problem with BIOSTAR motherboard and nVIDIA chip for SUSE 10.3?
Please help

Hi and Welcome !
You have to install Nvidia Driver. First of all, try to fix Display with default driver. Highlight SuSe title in GRUB Menu and press 3. Hit Enter key. SuSe will boot up in Command Line Mode. Log in as Regular User and execute this
Code:su - sax2 exit startx

Honestly i think its the biostar motherboard that has issues . Could not install any distro on it from ubuntu mandriva slax opensuse 10.3 . with 10.2 i had a bit of progress i got to partitioning before a fatal error occured when trying to install 10.3 i kept getting linuxrc has crashed so i think those mother boards don't like linux

Thanks to everybobody,
I also think it is with the motherboard itself. Only UBUNTU could be installed properly and in course of installation the UBUNTU distro installed the NVIDIA driver itself and from thereon it was all smooth.
Once again thanks and meet again later.
