    Waiting for device /dev/sda2 to appear:.....

    Hey guys, im still working with vanilla kernel configuration (2.6.20) and have came across this problem:

    Loading libata
    Loading ahci
    Loading ata_piix
    Loading reiserfs
    Waiting for device /dev/sda2 to appear:.....
    --exiting to /bin/sh
    sh: no job control in this shell
    $ _

    Its likely an easy to fix option ive left out of the .config file, but where should i look first to check?
    Thanks

    What partition does /dev/sda2 map to. It looks like it is unavailable or corrupted.

    I dont think that its corrupted. I just compiled a new kernel and ramdisk and copied the same grub settings as my working kernel. I am wondering is it something to do with the file system that i am using? i.e. wheter its modular or built into the kernel? I have had this problem on 2 different machines so far so i think that i am missing something when i am configuring my vanilla kernel for suse. Cheers
