I suggest you use the PartedMagic CD to resize the existing Windows partitions to make space for Linux. You should be able to then use the OpenSUSE installer to use the remaining free space on the disk. If you can free up about 25GB of free space you should end up with about 20GB for a root partition, upto about 1GB swap and the rest as a home partition.
If you want more information on your existing system setup I suggest you post the output of the following commands run from a linux terminal (you can do this from the PartedMagic CD)...
Code:fdisk -l df -h

openSUSE can detect Windows installations. You can boot straight from an openSUSE installation disc and during setup, it can resize your Windows partition (to a size of your choice) to make room for Linux. It will also add a bootloader entry for Windows, so when you boot up you have an option to boot into openSUSE or Windows. You can let openSUSE auto partition the space you set for Linux or at a minimum, you need to create a root (/) partition (mine is about 10 GB), a swap space (mine is 512MB) and /home (which is where user directories will be located so this partition is usually the largest).
