    DHCP on SUSE

My machine boots to Suse, Ubuntu, and WinXP Pro. Ubuntu and Windows both get online no problem with DHCP. OpenSuse 10.3 will get an IP address, but no default gateway or nameservers from DHCP. I manually configured the nameservers to 192.168.1.1, which lets me online, but it takes several second to look up hostnames (on a cable connection). Why won't Suse get the DHCP settings?

It could be that you misconfigured something. I would start again from scratch, making sure that the option to use DHCP is enabled and that your DNS info is set to be updated from DHCP.

If by that you mean reinstall Suse, it was enabled when I installed, and I would really like an option that doesn't involve redoing all the drivers and programs installation and customization I've done.

I didn't mean reinstalling the OS. I meant reconfiguring the network settings from scratch using YAST.

You can simply modify your network settings via YaST.
    I praise Webmin and PuTTy!
