Ati Radeon igp 340 (rs200) help

I am in need of help on how to install this graphics card. ATI does not have the drivers for this and I have been looking around the web and found very little as to installing this card. I installed all the necessary things through yast2 but that doesn't seem to help. It someone could walk me through this that would be great. My computer is a hp pavilion ze4220 laptop. I have activated 3d acceleration in yast. But that doesn't seem to have helped at all. This is what I get from sys info.

    Display Info

    Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc
    Model: RS200 4337
    Driver: radeonold (No 3D Support)

If ATI does not have a driver there is little that you can do.

here is a link for Gentoo but it looks scary to me. It may or may not apply to Suse. Use at your own risk

There are two open source ATI driver projects. I don't know if any of them will work with your card, but here they are.

    nada nada

I haven't had much luck with anything yet, my computer will restart to command prompt and I have to go through yast an reconfigure back to the way it was. There has to be something. Thanks.

Does that mean that you tried the two drivers that I linked to?

Did you edit the xorg.conf file to change the driver that it is using? With these older drivers, it usually is not done automatically.

I'm not sure where you are with this, but when you change to a different driver, it has to be changed here too.

There is also a whole page devoted to this subject on the openSUSE website.

Read through this page and see if it will help you some.
