    Suse 10.3: connection drops every minute

    Hi. I have a Suse 10.3-Vista dual boot system. I have recently installed nvidia drivers on suse, and i think that this process updated the kernel-source. Installation completed successfully. But after this update, I lost my connection every a half minute. I have intel PRO/Wireless 4965AGN, but I don't lose connections with my wireless router, this works continuously. I open firefox for example, get into a website and then I can't access any other. So, I disable wireless network, enable it again and I can access internet for a few seconds. Then the same happens.
    Maybe I have to install new drivers, dunno. I tried to install them from intellinux.org, but when I try to install mac80211, it says to run make kernel_patch, but when I am doing it, it says no rule for kernel_patch.
    Also I can't get into software manager, because it checks only the first repository and then it stops working.
    Thanks for any advice and sorry for my english

    You say kernel source was updated kernel source and kernel are normally updated at the same time whats the current version of your kernel yast won't work too well because most of your repo's require an internet connection you might have to compile from source

    Thanks for your answer. My kernel is 2.22.17.6. Do you mean to kernel compile? I'm a newbie, and I don' wanna give up because I liked linux although these first days I got tired of seeking infos.

    sorry i meant to say you might have to compile your wireless router drivers from source meaning you download the tar package from the site

    I went to intellinuxwireless.org, because this site i found in official intel page for linux drivers. I downloaded iwlwifi, and the inside readme says that i have to install mac80211 subsystem first. I downloaded the latest version, and I folllow the instructions. But as I said, i'm not able to follow them, because when I try to run "make patch_kernel" it says no rule... I tried opening terminal from the directory where i extracted the tar file, and i got the message:
    Checking kernel compatibility in:
    /lib/modules/2.6.22.17-0.1-default/source//
    * Kernel requires compatibility version:
    - Requires debugfs_rename() compat
    compatible/ already exists. You must remove it before continuing.
    If patch or script failed, check pre/ and post/ for current stage.
    make: *** [compatible/modified] Error 1
    What am i doing wrong?

    So is there any possibility that the problem isn't the drivers but something else? Could I uninstall the drivers and install them again?

    I deleted the drivers that I had, so now I'm from beggining. I ran as root: modprobe 80211 and no errors returned. So I tried to continue with the installation of iwlwifi that i downloaded from intellinuxwireless.org. But the second command is:
    % DIR=$(sed -ne "s:^FIRMWARE_DIR=\([^, ]*\).*:\1:p" \
    /etc/hotplug/firmware.agent)
    When I run it, it says no such file or directory, and really, I can't find firmware.agent. I have attached the install readme. The first command is make, and maybe it didn't work properly.

    These days I tried many things, I connected through ethernet and I search for iwlwifi in the repositories. I installed what it found and it updated the kernel, so I have two more operating systems with the same name, XEN 1.6.22.17-0.1, one debug 1.6.22.... and one more failsafe (in addition to the first) suse 10.3 1.6.22.17-0.1 When I installed the drivers it said to reboot in order to start my new kernel, but when I tried to open XEN, it only starts the terminal, maybe the nvidia driver isn't compatible with the new kernel. Is there any way to remove these additional and non working kernels?

    XEN is the virtual machine kernel. Do you really need that??
