Setup Hauppauge WinTV DVR 150
I used to have all this stuff worked before. However, after reinstall the OS, the card no longer work.
Since this card is supported out of the box for OpenSuse 10.3, I checked and the following packages are installed:
ivtv
ivtv-firmware
However, I don't see anything under /dev/video*
I also go to Yast and configure the TV Card from there, it all goes as usual, however, when scan for channel, it says /dev/video0 is not found which is correct. How do I configure this to work?
lsmod show me this:
ivtv 125676 0
i2c_algo_bit 9988 1 ivtv
cx2341x 15364 1 ivtv
tveeprom 18960 1 ivtv
videodev 30464 1 ivtv
v4l2_common 20608 3 ivtv,cx2341x,videodev
v4l1_compat 16388 2 ivtv,videodev
The firmware directory:
ls /lib/firmware
license-end-user.txt v4l-cx2341x-dec.fw v4l-cx2341x-init.mpg v4l-pvrusb2-24xxx-01.fw
license-oemihvisv.txt v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw v4l-cx25840.fw v4l-pvrusb2-29xxx-01.fw
modprobe ivtv
did not say anything (versus saying it's not found)

I got the card to work now. It was not pushed down completely.
It's strange that it's recognized, but things failed somewhere.

I am not an expert here obviously. However, there's a few way to get this.
first, did you check that your card is supported. Second, if so, what steps did you take to trouble shoot this? Third, maybe you didn't install it correctly (like I did), or the card is defect. So, you can pursue all those. Post your problem in another thread (don't piggy back on mine, people will overlook it) and post with all steps you did, card model number and any error message or whatever relevant messages.
