Here's my next shell input, as instructed by the INSTALL file in the SuperKaramba downloaded package:Code:Superkaramba can't be compiled because of missing Python libraries/headers.

I'm pretty sure that my main issue lays in the second code chunk above.
I am running on OpenSuSE 10.3 with KDE3.

Superkaramba is part of the kdeutils3-extra package so you can install it using YAST. If you still want to compile from source, then you need to install python-devel because ./configure says that you are missing python headers.

Yeah. I have python-devel installed. I am now installing the kdeutils3-extra package. If that works, then I'm set, however I'd still like to get the compilation to work, because I also would like to be able to compile other packages.

After looking at the error message again, it seems like the version of Superkaramba you tried to install looks for python 2.4 and below. openSUSE 10.3 has python 2.5.x.

Okay, so if I try to do another package, it should work? It's just the package I was trying to install..?
- 02-23-2008 #6
It depends on whether the dependencies of the package you are trying to install are available on your system. By the way, I noticed that you ran "make" even though ./configure had shown you that there was a problem. Usually you have to fix the problem first because make usually does not finish successfully if something went wrong in the ./configure process.
