    Error in rpm cache

I decided to give Firefox 3 beta a try on my opensuse 10.3. They have it in the yast repo so it all went smoothly and it works well.

Here's the problem. Within a very short time (an hour or so) there was an update and as it's a beta I thought I should go for it. However, although it's updated it can't remove the previous rpm entry from the cache so yast now thinks I have 2 installed.

It's not a problem in use but it's irritating to see that I've got an update waiting when I haven't. I'm not sure, either, what will happen when the next real update is due.

Anyone know how to tidy up the cache? I've tried 'rpm --rebuilddb' with no result.

I'd remove both then reinstall. It is a beta after all.

PS once reinstalled lock it so you don't get every update in the world. Later you can manually unlock it to get the latest. Betas tend to change very fast you can get things that may break. After all its a beta

Thanks, but the problem is that the original entry is not there so it can't be removed. It just shows in the cache.
I've already tried removing them but it leaves the offending item behind. I need to clear the package cache I think but I don't know how.
