Beryl
Hi!
I need some help!
I can't use the Beryl. I use the OpenSUSE 10.3 version.
Now the Xgl is runing, until I start install the Beryl.
First, I download the Beryl:
zypper sa Index of /repositories/X11:/XGL:/Legacy/openSUSE_10.3 xgl
After I install with Yast
beryl-core
beryl-manager
beryl-plugins
beryl-settings
emerald-themes
aquamarine
Now I have a little problem: I can't install the emerald, because it have a dependecies problem:
libwnc-1.so.18()(64bit) there is no installation service for emerald-0.2-2.1.x86_64[xgl]
=== emerald-0.2-2.1.x86_64[xgl] ===
The user install the emerald-0.2-2.1.x86_64[xgl] packages
emerald-0.2-2.1.x86_64[xgl] need the fillup-1.42-179.x86_64 packages (fillup == 1.42-179)
emerald-0.2-2.1.x86_64[xgl] need the glibc-2.6.1-18.x86_64 packages (libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.3.4)(64bit))
(Naturally not in english)
It turn, because they are installed: libwnck, libwnck-1-22, libwnck-32bit, libwnck-devel, fillup, glibc, glibc-32bit, glibc-devel, glibc-html, glibc-i18ndata, glibc-info, glibclocale, glibc-locale-32bit, glibc-obsolete
If i finished the installation without emerald and run the beryl-manager in console the Beryl effect doesn't work. But if I restart the computer the XGL is break up, the PC slow down, the xgl effects are vanish, sometime the Beryl effects are working (for example wobbling windows) but the windows boarder missing.
What's the problem?
It is the Emerald absence?
Why can't install the Emerald?
Thanks for help!

If I were you, I would remove beryl and install compiz-fusion instead. Compiz and beryl re-merged and compiz fusion is the new version of beryl + compiz. hope this helps.

Thanks
Thanks, Compiz working better than Beryl.
But now empty the window boarder. Here it is, but empty. No title and no symbols (close, maximalize). What can I do? Working everything and every effects.
Can I take a picture behind the cube like in Beryl?
I try to take a photo with the printscreen button, but if i press it happens nothing. Compiz disable the printscreen button? How can I enabled again?
Thanx for everything

What hardware? Motherboard and video
This seem like a common problem but there does not seem to be a solution.

Hardware
My hardware list:
Motherboard: Asus M2V
Video: Asus Radeon X1300PRO 256MB DDR TV/DVI PCIExpress
possibly if you want:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Processor
2X 512Mb 667Mhz DDR-II RAM
2X 1Gb 667Mhz DDR-II RAM
Probable, the linux doesn't love my hardwares?
Or I'm just a simply loser, and these problem is my fault?
And WHY???:
You have seen i have ATI Video Card.
Before the XGL/compiz effects, when I install the ATI card, like this:
sh ati-driver-installer.run --listpkg
sh ati*.run --buildpkg SuSE/SUSE103-AMD64
init 3
cd /usr/src/packages/RPMS/x86_64
rpm -Uvh fgl*.rpm
ldconfig
aticonfig --initial --input=/etc/X11/xorg.conf
sax2 -r -m 0=fglrx
reboot
AND THEN if i testing my video card (fglrxinfo) the Suse write:
OpenGL Vendor sting: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: Radeon x1300/x1500
and more
but when i activate the Xgl and retested my videocard, that happens:
OpenGL vendor string : Mesa project: Mesa Home Page
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.5.1)
Why? The effects are working "correctly" but with Mesa.
Thanx again

Well the ATI Linux drivers just don't seem as good as the NVIDIA drivers, historically. This may improve since I heard that ATI is open sourcing it's hardware interface. Also the compiz stuff is in all reality still beta. Sometimes it works great sometime it's flaky.
