Post Suse does not load with ACPI in Asus M2N Deluxe

Hi all, I need some help, I am a new Linux user, I got Linux Suse 10.3 and 10.2 in each case when I start a normal instalation the setup gets freezed, in a second time I started the installation woth ACPI disabled and the installations started to run, but when the setup will search for hard drives ir says that there is no hard disks installed.

I have 2 SATA II disks and the motherboard is an Asus M2N deluxe.

    the same happens with Ubuntu.

    How can I fix this?

    Try boot code nolapic

I read of one Asus user (for openSUSE-10.3) having to enter the boot code:
    nolapic
    you could try that

How old is your machine? Check your MotherBoard's Manufacturer site for available BIOS version. Upgrade BIOS, if possible.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
