Linksys WMP54G...
Hi.
I've been using windows since I started using computer so you could bet that Im pretty tired to it. Once in month I have to reinstall windows and so on... So I wanted to try Linux and downloaded openSuSe 10.3. I know something about SuSe but not much so I would like to get some help with my Linksys. Seems to me that I'll have to search for drivers for this card but cant find any. I tried my friends card, not sure which card it was, maybe a teccomm or something, and it worked just fine.
My question is that is there any linux drivers for this card or do I just have to change back to my unreliable windows xp and if there is, how do I install it?
Many thanks

I have a Linksys WMP54g, and in order to get it working with some distributions I had to install ndiswrapper and then use that program to load the Microsoft Windows driver for the card. You're interested in the .INF and .SYS files.
NDISWrapper:
NDISwrapper - Home
Driver:
ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/wmp54g_driver.zip
SuSE may already have a version of NDISWrapper you can install off the disc.Registered Linux user #270181

I don't think there are any linux drives (i could be wrong) but you can use the windows drivers with ndiswrapper.
here is the how to - http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/lin...lan-linux.html
EDIT: < Okay Techiemoe i see we have a lot of time on our hands

Encryption key:off
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0

eth0 no wireless extensions.
CompName:~ # ndiswrapper -l

I did everything that was said in geeses link. Still wont work. The green light on the back of the card isnt working neither. Did I do something wrong or what?

I tried KNetworkManager but it didnt even recognize my wireless adapter. I think I'll try newer version of ndiswrapper and newer drivers for the adapter too (tried using the drivers that came with the card)...
I was amazed that I even managed to install the drivers myself
