Is Vista installed on the same machine as Linux?
What do you mean by access the files?
Which GUI are you using - Gnome, KDE other?

hey,
yes the vista is installed on the same machine as linux, it's a sony vaio VGN-FZ140E.
My GUI is KDE.
I want to open the files of my windows on linux without moving them by a portable storage disk.

To access/read windows files just click on the little house icon in taskbar or desktop (konqueror file manager). When it opens, click the small red folder on the left part of the window to open root folder and scroll up/down the tree listing for windows and click on your windows entry. If you want to do more you will need to post again giving more details about what you want to do.
