    how to "hot swapable eSATA"?

    Hi,

I have an ASUS M2N-E SLI MD with OpenSUSE 10.3 64 bit os installed. I have a Vantec eSATA controller card installed on a PCI-E slot. Is it possible to hot swap an external eSATA drive? Currently, I have to boot up the system with the drive connected through the eSATA port. I am hoping to make it hot swapable. Thanks!

I have never done it but it seems that all you would need to do is dismount the drive and then mount it when the new drive is inserted. I doubt the it can auto mount the drive like a USB drive. I could be wrong though.
