    issue regarding bashrc

    hello,

i have been using some libraries for programming. i used to add the PATH variables in ~/.bashrc file (When i was using SuSE Linux Enterprize Server ) and it worked fine...

Now i am using openSUSE. when i tried to add path in the bashrc file and applied the changes... it stoped recognizing my commands..... i-e after adding the paths in .bashrc file... when i did "ls" , or "pwd" (and any other command).. It gave me error "No Such Command".......

Can any one tell wat is this and where i have to add the paths coz bashrc is not recognizing it.... this is very necessary........

One more thing.. i tried /etc/profile as well.. when i rebooted... it didnt showed me my Gnome and KDE saying that profile is corrupted.... i had to go in the bash shelll to restore it... Can any one tell????

It looks like you are not editing files correctly. Could you post exact commands that you are adding in both files, here?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
