Which Video driver are using in SuSe?
    Execute this
    Code:
    grep -i driver /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    Post output here.

Its using intel driver. Have you tried setting "vesa" driver in /etc/X11/xorg.conf file?

Have you tried running sax2, making sure the resolution is set to 1024x768 and then restarting X.

I tried sax2 and tried changing resolution
after this could not connect from nx server hence did not reply as my machine had hung up after the sax2 command when i changed the settings of the moniter
as previously reported the the chip is intel
moniter is samsung syncmaster 153B the display was 1024*768 60hz

i had to reboot and system made recovery to kde

i hope i am posting the corrcet info which is helping in resolving the issue
    thanking once again sharad
