Reset Root Password
Hi All,
I am a Newbie in Linux Platform, i just want to know one thing.
How can i reset the root password for my
Linux Server version:
Linux version 2.6.5-7.191-smp (geeko@buildhost) (gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux))
I have reviewed all articles related to this and not clear exactly.
I do not have privilege for accessing the server directly, i need to access it using a client only.
So please tell me how can i do it?

hello Windhan,
it's always worth doing a search of the forum because whatever problem you've got you can almost guarantee someone else has had it before... particularly something as disturbingly common as forgetting your root password.

I'd expect physical access to the machine or an account on the server with root access rights are the only methods to do this.
I'll watch the thread with interest ... but would have thought other remote methods would be a real security issue.
