application windows visible on taskbar in all workspaces
Hi all,
I am facing a problem which on other linux version is a simple thing to do.Just completed with installation of opensuse10.3.
My problem is that, I am having different workspaces. But even on switching workspace,All the windows currently open are shown on taskbar.
I want to have applications opened in a particular workspace should show only when i switch to that workspace.
This should be very simple, but on suse10.3 this is looking really hard to do
Can anybody help please??

AFAIK, Gnome has also that option under Preferences. Right click on Workspace Icon and select Preferences.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

you have to right click on the tab in the task bar that refers to the actual windows that are open, NOT the workspace tab in the task bar. So to reiterate just to the left off where your windows are listed in the task bar, right click on the little bevels and hit Preferences there.
I was having the same problem too, that is what lead me to this thread.

YOU ARE A GOD!!!!
Why in HELL's name gnome has such an important configuration HIDDEN in such a small place is WAY beyond me. This definitely needs to be brought to the attention of the gnome team.
For those who haven't got it yet:
When you normally open a window you should see its' Controller/Selector on the gnome taskbar (i.e. where you go when you wanna open it after minimizing a window)... look to the IMMEDIATE LEFT of where these "minimized windows" will go and you'll see a seperator. RIGHT-CLICK that seperator and press preferences. You'll have your options in there.
For a moment i was beginning to believe gnome didn't have such a critical/common feature like this. Nonetheless, thanks for coming through everyone
