Share swap partition with /tmp
Hi.
I install suse SLES 10 sp1 .
I have 4GB RAM. and 8GB swap. Can I share a 8GB swap with /tmp folder?
that I will have an write and read access to /tmp and after reboot this folder will be clear?
In one of thread I read that the 8GB is too big 1Gb is enough. What is your opinion about this.
Thank you for info

Hi and Welcome !

If you have 4GB RAM then there is no need to create SWAP partition at all unless you are running very memory intensive applications. If you want to create SWAP, 1GB is more than enough.
Resize SWAP using PartedMagic LiveCD and allocate free space to /tmp partition. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
