Nvidia has official drivers for Linux. You can install them several different ways. Here is one method:

Okk ! I would suggest you to follow instructions from the link I posted in last post. 1-Click-Install is the easiest way to install Nvidia Driver.

Ok, I just klicked on that button on nvidia website. I started the installation. So far, so good. But now the installation is still running. It installs the package "kernel-default-2.6.22.17-0.1.i586.rpm" since more then 15 minutes, but it is already since 15 minutes at 100%. what to do now?

Use what is called the "hard method"

Go to Welcome to NVIDIA - World Leader in Visual Computing Technologies go to download drivers select your chip set and Linux type. note you will need to know if you installed the 32bit or 64bit version of Suse.

This will take you to the download page. download the driver and read the instruction for Suse. ( there is a link)

Via Yast-software-software managment install gcc (the c compiler) and kernel-source.

follow the instructions for the "hard" install from the Suse site.
    accept all the default answers.

    It really is not hard
