Angry Suse 10.3 Hangs On Install

Hi. this problem has been bugging me for a while now, first of all i'm a NOOB. Ok my problem is that i cannot install any distro of linux on my laptop, when i click on installation the screen just goes black and nothing happens. I've tried all distros including the X64. My computer specs are as follows:

Amd Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor TK-55
Had Vista but got rid of it and upgraded to XP (lol)
    2GB Ram
    120GB Hard Drive
    NVidia Integrated Graphics (256mb)

Don't think the rest is important (screen size, modem etc.)

The distro i want to install is Suse 10.3 but as ive said ive tried most.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you.

Its a Graphics Card problem only. Installer isn't configuring your card correctly. Have you tried Text Installation?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Try Ubuntu Alternate Installation CD. It has Text based installer and works fine with every machine. Its easy to fix Graphics Problem after installation.

    Angry Still Not Working

Ok still not working, it loads the kernel like before cd spins up then stops like before, only this time it says at the bottom...

    KERNEL ALIVE

KERNEL DIRECT MAPPING TABLES UP TO 100000000 @ 8000-d000

whatever the hell that means (lol)

i think ill just give up if i cant find a solution soon.

I had a similar problem on SUSE with an old desktop PC ... I managed to get OpenSUSE installed using the DVD - the live CD would not work. The system seemed to hang but after a while ... about 15 or 20 minutes it came back with a message about a module not loading (for the motherboard on my system) and I had to use the broken module option during install.

If you have the OpenSUSE DVD I would give that a try and see if it comes back with any error messages after about 20 minutes.

Someone else on the forums was also struggling with Xubuntu ... the alternate CD did not work for that system and he could not get the installer to load. The alternate CD will work in most but not all instances. There are a few boot options you can try with the CD which you should be able to list ... I think its F1 for help and F6 for boot options.

Have you got the live CD of SUSE or Ubuntu to work on your PC at all ... forget about the install ... will either boot to a GUI?
