Can't find Wireless Network
I have two Dell laptops with built-in wireless cards. In both cases I've booted to a "Live" distribution. Suse Live and Fedora Live. In both cases, they find the wireless card/interface. However after configuring the wireless information for my network, niether can find the network. Suse searches for a little while, and then just drops off. Fedora searches but then gives an error ... basically saying it could not find the network. when booted on Windows, both of these find the network.
Any suggestions. These are both intel pro ..... wireless interfaces

You weren't by any chance using a broadcom wireless card were you? They appear to be working but secretly still need firmware loaded onto them. If you load the firmware or use ndiswrapper it works a lot better.

I have had a similar issue with my wireless on my ibm x31 thinkpad. I cannot get my wireless to connect. It is an Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter according to the Hardware Device settings. Is there any firmware that I need to load as well?

I had a similar problem. I fixed it by using KNetworkManager. Go into Yast - Network devices and choose your device. There is a check box that says something like 'use KNetworkManager.' Check it and run KNetworkManager.
