    Hostname

    Hello, my computer's hostname is funpolice001 but it is also known as funpolice01 and funpolice1. I can login to this computer using ssh with any of the names but when I try to retrieve the hostname from the console it always returns funpolice01. How do I get it to return the longest name (funpolice001) instead?

    Just an update, basically I want to return all the aliases or all the hostnames of the computer. I have tried "hostname --alias" but it only returns funpolice1.
