    SuSE 10.3 booting into console. Why?


    For some reason SuSE 10.3/KDE is booting to do I get to boot KDE again?

    That depends what you did since it last booted into KDE. If you press crtl+alt+f1 and login as root and type
    init 5
    does KDE start? you may need to press ctrl+alt+f7 to get to the GUI.

    1) Did you ever install a video driver?

    2) have you had a recent update to the kernel?

    if so then you must reinstall the video driver.

    I second that. Execute startx command and post error message here, if any.
    Post your machine's specs too.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
