Suse 10.1 Help with changing kernel

Hey all, I'm running suse 10 with Service pack 1 Enterprise edition on a 2 cpu system and 2GB RAM.
After runing uname -r I got the following:
    2.6.16.46-0.12-default

And when i ran dmesg command I got this:

    Processor #0 6:15 APIC version 17
    ACPI: LAPIC (acpi_id[0x01] lapic_id[0x01] enabled)
    Processor #1 6:15 APIC version 17
WARNING: NR_CPUS limit of 1 reached. Processor ignored.

I was sure that suse 10 comes with SMP enabled but it seem not to be so.

    So my questions are:
    1) Where from I get the appropriate kernel version with SMP?
    2) How do I install the SMP kernel?

    Thanks in advance

    Do it through Yast-Software-Software management

    search for kernel.

The newer version 10.3 does this automatically but older versions you must specify what kernel you want. If I recall, this will add an additional boot option. You will need to edit the /etc/fstab file to set the default boot kernel.

I"ve found how to do it

Somebody gave me a CD with the smp kernel as rpm file.
    I"ve installed the file.
Went to the /boot/grub/menu.lst file and changed the defult to point to the new kernel.

    And it worked
