    Welcome

You need to tell use what desktop manager KDE or Gnome??

Look in the menu under SYSTEM-More Programs for NVIDIA-XServer settings - X server Display Configuration on the Xscreen tab

I'm running an older 6800 chip set and mine does not go beyond 24 bit. But then 16.7 million colors is ok by me. I doubt my eyes would see the difference.

It may require an edit of the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file to add the 32 bit option to Xwindows.

The last time I was up on such things (which, admittedly, has been about 8 years), 24-bit color was not lower quality than 32-bit color. They both use 8 bits each for R, G and B, but 32-bit color is padded with an extra byte for performance since processors are often optimized for 32-bit operations.
