    IDE for c++

    hello everyone
    please tell me is there any IDE for c++ in opensuse which can be used to write and run c++ code (i dont want to run the code from konsole).
    i tried to install kdevelop3 from my dvd of opensuse 10.3 but that didnt worked.

    i installed kdevelop3 from yast on my opensuse10.3.
    but when i move to K menu -> development -> IDE for C/C++
    there i found one editor and beneath it is command line for running code.
    it doesnt gives me the look for an IDE.

    From what you said, KDevelop installed correctly and the menu entry is the correct one for developing C/C++ applications.

    i dont think you installed it properly mine is working installed from yast

    Are you running kde or Gnome? kdevelop may not work correctly from Gnome.

    Do you get any error messages when you try to run the program? Try running kdevelop (it might be kdevelop3) from the command line.

    what errors did you get i installed it yesterday from yast it it worked fine from command line type kdevelop post output here

    From what he said in post 3, I think kdeveloped installed successfully. It probably does not look like the IDEs he is used to in Windows.
