No KDE session option in login window for 10.3 Gnome Install

    Hi all

I installed 10.3 Gnome on my box, and would like to try the KDE version. Unfortunately, it seems that I do not have the option to switch sessions in login window. Do I have to install the kde3 via YAST? From what I've read in many forums, it seems that the KDE desktop should have been installed and all I have to do is select KDE session during login.

The worst-case scenario is to reinstall OpenSUSE 10.3 but selecting KDE instead of Gnome?!

Any thoughts and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to install KDE through Yast ... once installed you should get options to login using KDE session type from the login screen.

When you install openSuSE it asks you if you want Gnome, KDE, or "Other." You chose Gnome. You could "double up" and install both at the cost of HDD space, or reinstall and select KDE.

    Hi Jonathan,

Forgive me if this is a naive/noob question, but do I just add the kdebase3 (KDE core components), or kdebase3-session, or do I need to add all the other kdebase3 addons? There are a lot of packages for 3.5.7 and I assume the "safest" is to install ALL of them (if HD space is not an issue).
