booting option lost

hello everyone
i have installed opensuse 10.3 and windows on my system.
my windows get corrupted and i have to reinstall it but as i reinstalled my Windows i have a problem . i have lost the screen where i choose whether to boot with Windows or boot with linux.
can u please tell me how can i fix this problem.
secondly how can i get my linux partitions back to windows.

I think you're bieng a bit harsh there HROAdmin26. You can only search the forum when you know what you're looking for. bilal_jan: the program that you're talking about is called Grub. Read the article daark.child has given you a link to and don't hesititate to post back if you still don't understand.

Manchunian i have one query...
i moved to link (this link was posted by daark.child)

from that page i selected Download CDROM
then from the next page i selected
Download CDROM Mirror #0
from the next page i downloaded the file sgd_0.9670.iso
this file size is 3.84MB.
i just wanna know that should i burn this 3.84MB file onto a CD and then follow the instructions on the article posted by [/B]daark.child[B]...there are so many files on that page from where i downloaded sgd_0.9670.iso...i just want to make sure that i download the correct file.

I never really read the article posted by daarkchild but i have a solution which has worked for me countless time's what you have to do is boot with opensuse dvd inside your rom when you get too the part where it say's installation or update choose other option's and choose boot installed system this will boot your current suse installation now from here go to yast then bootloader select the option detect installed oS's this will detect your window's installation you can edit your grub here even choose the default OS to boot too first (i'm writing from memory so things might be a bit diff) from here you apply you will get an option to install grub to mbr choose yes and you sorted . I constantly loose my grub whenever i install another distro on my pc but this is the method i use to get my grub back

Looks like the correct file was downloaded, it is an iso image. What you need to do is burn it as an image, iso. There should be options for this with whatever burning software you have.
