sound blaster Live! 24 bit - no sound, please help!

    Dear OpenSuSE experts:

I have a sound blaster Live! 24 bit sound card. When I was using OpenSuSE 10.3, each time after booting up the OS, I had to remove the driver and then re-configure it to get sound. Now that I upgraded to OpenSUSE 11.0, I can no longer have any sound no matter what I do.

Can someone shed some light on this?

    Thanks!

    Run alsaconf as root.

Log on as root and see if you get sound. If so your user must be a member of the audio group. This is a common problem with SB cards.

    Thanks a lot again, gogalthorp!

I forgot to add audio to the user group. Now the sound works!
