    Unhappy fdisk not detect hard drive in rescue mode

    please help
    i commented all entries in /etc/fstab whiile trying to recover from crash
    i run fsck successfully but unable to uncomment the entries as system boots to read only even after reboot .i boot to rescue mode with a bootable cd but fdisk -l does not list my hard drive so i can not mount my hard drive for recovery
    what can i do?

    Hi and Welcome !

    Have you tried any LiveCD? I would suggest you to boot up from PartedMagic LiveCD and execute fdisk -l command in its Terminal. Post output of fdisk command here.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
