    Who is better ?

    SLES 10 or SLED 10 ?

I mean to have at your PC . I saw the SLES was 4.25 GB and the SLED 2.97GB

To be more explicit , what are the differences between them ?

    Many thanks in advance.
I have had a 360 ,but it got the RROD
No more XBOX, i turned PS3
I had it for months ,it still amazes me!

Never seen a bigger failure of MICROSOFT then the XBOX 360!

Both are out of date the current version is 11.0

The differences is only what is bundled with the OS you can install everything via Yast. So the only real difference is what comes on the media.

    One last question :

Will i have problems if i install a LINUX SERVER to use normally as my desktop ?

Of course i am not an ISP or any other related thing.

Why would you want to install a server if you're going to use the machine as a desktop? Why not just install the desktop?

Because i only have the Servers Enterprise editions of REDHAT and SUSE .

Anyway i installed REDHAT 5 Server in QEMU and it runs normally, but i must admit ,i am not a fan of RPM based Linuxes so i guess i will keep my Ubuntu for now.

Why not download the desktop versions? If you're going to use this machine as a regular desktop there's no logical reason to install a product designed for a server. You'll end up missing software packages in some cases and have extra packages you don't need in others.

Ok ,but Desktop Enterprises are really difficult to find by torrents.

Anyway after i tried Redhat 5 at QEMU ,i am shocked at how SOFTWARE POOR was that system. Of course i will never install that. It even hadn't pppoeconf for configuring my net connection.

I will search for SUSE Desktop and i will try to find download and install it instead. I read a few pages from a few books related to SUSE and i will get 11.0 free version.

You can get essentially the exact same desktop as Redhat Enterprise Linux by downloading CentOS. They use the same source code. The only difference is that they do not offer enterprise support contracts. Are you doing this for a business that needs that sort of thing?

SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop is freely downloadable from here:

SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 Evaluation Download

It's a 60-day evaluation. You can get essentially the same (though not precisely the same) desktop with no time limit by downloading OpenSuSE.

Have you considered using Fedora instead? They include quite a bit of software, most of it brand new and sometimes not completely bug-tested.

A SERVER OS is meant for...a SERVER. Don't install it and think that you're going to have default support for your sound card, 3-D graphics, watching movies, or using a DSL modem. Notice the word ENTERPRISE in the name - these builds are meant for ENTERPRISE production use. These machines would have no sound cards, basic graphics chips, and would NOT be used to play movies and surf the Net.
