    Arrow Problems Burning OpenSuse Discs

I have been trying to install opensuse for several days now and keep having the same problems. The install dvd's Ive burnt all end up being bad. Ive tried 10.2 and 11 from two different torrent sites and I also downloaded 11 directly from the opensuse site. I tried burning them on 3 different pc's with either nero or poweriso and they all end up with bad sectors. Is there something else I should be doing?

When downloading isos, use a download manager, check the md5 or sha1 sums and if they are okay, burn them to disc at a slow speed.

Are you using low quality media, perhaps?

Yes I am burning them as images. They will boot and enter the setup and everything but the install will fail. I used the option to check the install media on 2 of the discs and they both gave the same error " Error reading sector 2052880. This DVD is broken"
I am using TEON, Memorex, and Sony dvd's.

I went through this same thing a while back but in my case I purchased the DVDs for $5 or $6 plus shipping. I bought them from two different sources. I ended up with 4 bad DVDs from the two vendors. They were kind enough to replace their supposed defective product - not sure now they were! I did not have DVD burn capability. I finally gave up and burned a few live CDs and they work flawlessly.
I'm beginning to wonder about the evolution of DVD technology. It appears DVD recorders don't really have their act together yet. Or maybe its my old hardware or maybe the drive just needs cleaning. I don't know. Very frustrating!

If you've downloaded from several different sources, varied your recording speed, used different media and verified the checksums, the only thing I can think of that's left is that your DVD drive is bad.
