Compiling Drivers in Open SuSE

I recently installed OpenSuSE on my computer but I can't get the wireless to connect to the network at all. I type in the WEP key; it tries to connect, but then nothing, no error message, no nothing, it just gives up.

I got some Linux drivers directly from Asus here. (located in the "others" category) It provides me with a source and vague instructions on how to compile them, and I'm sure it's easy when you know how, but it's completely beyond me.

I've tried googling it but found nothing. Could someone please provide me with a link to a guide (there must be one) on how to compile drivers. Or you can always talk me through it, but I need instructions in depth, as I've hardly used Linux because I can't use the internet with it.

My rig:

* Intel Core2Quad 2.4 GHz (Clocked at 3.42 GHz)
* Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 3650
* IDE 120 GB HDD (SuSE 11)
* SATA 500 GB HDD (Vista)

hmm, don't see anything about wireless devices. is it switched on ? is it on-board or usb ? do you know the make/model of the device ?
you can try my little personal reminder on compiling here Stuntmanandys openSUSE/SuSE forum &bull; View topic - Install Tar or bzipped files may not be the most complete, but it may help

I have also Asus P5K-E/WiFi AP and wireless card is not on pci but on usb (that's why in windows I see it everytime on the task bar as device able to safety remove) - try:

What is a pity, I didn't get it work in master mode (as access point)... although driver is directly in kernel, probably doesn't support this mode.

I suspect it would be easier to use ndiswrapper and the Windows drivers.
