Sorry to be a bother again!! I messed up in Yast again and had to reinstall my suse os..
I have forgotten how to change my desktop resolution so that I can shrink the icons.

Thank You Gogalthorp for the link. I thought I had it right but I ended up with a black screen so I had to re-install suse again. When it's not going your way, it justs gets worse.

If loss of time is important, fresh installs are generally the best.
Otherwise, I like to dig around until I'm able to figure out what the problem is.oz

Well I have discovered two things!! First I need to keep a computer notebook because my memory is truly not what it used to be. Second I discovered what my monitor problem was being caused by.
My os was perceiving that my monitor is a Vesa 1024x768@60HZ and Everything got distorted. When I reinstalled suse I installed everything on the disks except the KDE desktop. It was then that I discovered that my monitor is really a Vesa 1280x1024@60HZ
This problem is solved Linuxforums!!!
