    Suse 11.0 Live CD Install

I have two hard drives (dual boot), labeled C and D, with a copy of Windows XP Home installed on both drives. The C drive is about 300 GB, so I used a partition manager to shrink the C partition down to about 150 GB. Then the remainder, 151.61 GB, I formatted NTFS and labeled the partition Z. It is
this partition Z that I want to install SUSE 11.0 on.

From the Suse 11.0 live CD, this is what Yast suggested: (Before I proceed with the install, I wonder if anyone knows if the mount point to /windows/E, (which is my cd-r) drive is correct.)

-Shrink Windows partition /dev/sda2 to 50.5 GB
-Create extended partition /dev/sda3 (101.0 GB)
-Create swap partition /dev/sda5 (2.0 GB)
-Create root partition /dev/sda6 (20.0 GB) with ext3
    -Create partition /dev/sda7/ (79.0 GB) for /home with ext3
-Set mount point of /dev/sda1 to /windows/C
-set mount point of /dev/sdb1 to /windows/E

Second question. For the sake of exploration, I clicked "Create Prtition Setup", and chose the option to use the 300 GB C Drive. From the next window I chose to use the Z partition. Then Yast suggested a different layout. This one looks right to me. But because I'm new to this I thought I'd better ask around before continuing. Does this one look right? Here's yasts layout:

-Delete Windows partition /dev/sda2 (151.6 GB)
-Create extended partition /dev/sda2 (151.6 GB)
-Create swap partition /dev/sda5 (2.0 GB)
-Create root partition /dev/sda6 (20.0 GB) with ext3
    -Create partition /dev/sda7 (129.5 GB) for /home with ext3
-Set mount point of /dev/sda1 to /windows/C
-Set mount point of /dev/sdb1 to /windows/D

Okay, that's it. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm anxious to proceed with the install of Suse.

Looks good. your windows partitions are /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1. Make sure not to format them at all. The second sections you have is good.

Thanks CRC. I went ahead with it. All was well till reboot which gave an error 18 Grub loading. I believe it has to do with the size of the drive being too large for the BIOS. Anyway, I used my XP install CD to fix the MBR and get back my windows partitions. Looks like Suse is not in my stars. Thanks again for your help.
