cannot connect to network card in opensuse 10.2

I have a machine (server) HP ML110 G5 and install opensuse10.2 on it along with KDE desktop
I have never worked on linux before and completely new
    Yast was also successfully installed.
The server have a network card of HP.
HP provides me three drivers for this series out of them only one of properly installed.
When I reboot the system, it shows the network card in hardware but shows as disconnected.
I could not be able to find any option how to connect to internet through this network card.
I think network card driver is not properly installed.
My internet is connected through a DSL Model after which I have installed a router in which DHCP server is running.
This server (in which linux being installed) will use the IP address given by the router.
Please help me as I am now struck and had read many articles but could not found the solution.
