I have a directory on my server (/home/mike/data) that I am trying to use as a NSF share. However, users from client desktops on the network are only able to open documents in "Read Only" mode. The users need to be able to modify and save documents on the server.

Server: Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10 – SP2 (GNOME)
Clients: OpenSuse 11.0 ( KDE 4.1.1)

I set up the NSF directory (/home/mike/data) via YaST on both the server (using the NSF Server interface) and on the client machines (using the NSF Client interface). I set the permissions on the server for the directory (/home/mike/data) as: owner – mike, group – users, 777.

For testing purposes I created a NSF share on one of the client machines. “Write” access was possible from a secondary client machine. However “write” access from client machine to server machine is not working. What needs to be done for any user from client machines on the network to have “write” access to a directory on the server machine?
