    Question problem with openSUSE 10.3

    I have upgraded my linux to Suse 10.3 recently.Unfortunately the sound comes only thorugh the system speakers only and when i tried to hear the audio using headphones the sound still comes only through the speakers . Is there any additional patch ups available for this problem.

    I've seen this problem before and I don't know of a fix. What you can do is manually mute the speakers and enable sound from the headphones using the sound mixer.

    In Gnome with the Alsa mixer...

    Double-click the System Tray volume control > Switches

    Is the "Headphone" option checked?

    I have tried the above two options even it doesn't work................

    You need to mute the volume level labelled as "Front" (on my sound cards thats the option, it might be slightly different on yours) and then unmute the headphone if its muted.

    Oh i have tried the thing as suggested by you in the "Front " panel, it had solved my problem.
