suse10.3 box <USB> win 98 box woes
I'm trying to get my old 700MHz celeron box to talk with my later 2.6GHz celeron box so I can run both machines and read the one I want on one monitor with one set of peripherals.. I've connected 2 random USB ports together, but can't see the win box-which has no externals connected. (Circa 2000) the win box has 2 USB's near the eth0 port, one is marked for the kbrd, the other is ? (mouse I suppose-but can I adapt it for what I want?) It isn't convenient to use ethenet ports to link them, as I can't get the onboard ethernet on the win box to work into win 98se and I don't have a spare ethernet card for the 10.3 machine, and it's too late to get one now. I'll guess and say that the older box is using USB 1.x, and the new one USB 2.x.
2.6GHz Celeron, 1GB, 160GB, 128Mb SuSe11.2; PCTV, GBit eth0 on P4PE, 10/100 eth1 <Ride to ride again>.
