Sorry, but according to OpenPrinting.org that printer does not work at all with Linux:
OpenPrinting database - Printer: Canon MF3110/3111/3228
Maybe someone else will respond with better news.oz

Thanks for the answer. I have found a way out here:HOWTO - Print to a windows printer from linux WITHOUT needing any linux printer drivers/PPDs.
