    USB keyboard not recognized after boot

    After boot up, I can plugin a mouse into the USB port and it would work. This doesn't happen with the keyboard. I have to plug it in before boot up the computer. This is OpenSuse 11. Please help.

    Check you BIOS settings. You should enable USB keyboard support there.

    I think it has something to do with Linux. The reason being that it works fine if it's in Windows environment. It also works fine on boot up. I am talking about hot plug here.

    Hm... Just tried replugging my genius luxmate USB keyboard. Works fine. What's your model?

    Mine is a Dell keyboard going through a KVM through a USB adapter. Did you try not plugging it in at all, start all up, then plug it in? By the way, this is a laptop, so it already has its own keyboard beside this external one.
