You need to supply a lot more information.
    What version of Suse?
    Is this a new install??
If new what hardware? How much memory, what CPU, how are you connecting to the net etc.

In a console window type firefox do you see any error messages?? If so what.

its working now but took it 20mins to boot up

    a...
    40gb hd, 1200mhz celleron,, 256k mem
    linux opensuse 11 gnome
no errors from firefox unless i close it

it ask me to wait until it works

but other than that it does nothing, it just opens firefox and sleeps until it feels ready to open it????

Open a console and run top

See if there is any process eating CPU

256 meg may be a little light for 11.0

What errors do you get when you close Firefox. Are you experiencing slow down everywhere or just with Firefox??

What video card/chip. Do you have a special driver installed?

Ok it looks like this is fixed or no longer a problem. I'm closing this thread. If you have further problems start a new thread
