From a green newbe.... I wacked a 2000 server I had and put Suse 9.1 on it.....
For some reason my Nic won't get a dhcp address from my Netgear router. I have a Netgear Router between my Network and a cable modem. I have 4 other machines running different flavors of Windows for the wife and kids and one XP Pro along with my new Suse 9.1 box for me!
I used an address that wasn't in use and plugged in the gateway and dns settings and I now have access to the Internet and the LAN here. Of course being a complete newbe I will have to figure out how to connect to my shared printer and other resources on my XP Pro machine....
Anyway, I installed Suse 9.1 from my newley shipped CD's and with the exception of the nic issue it seems to be "all good".
Now comes the burning of the mid night oil figuring it all out..
