Hi all, nobody ever seems to answer my posts lol, but im gonna try again anyway.
Have just installed Sarg and when i try to generate a report i get the following error:
Now generating Sarg report from Squid log file /var/log/squid/access.log and all rotated versions ..
sarg -l /var/log/squid/access.log
SARG: getword loop detected.
SARG: searching for 'x20'
SARG: Maybe you have a broken record or garbage in your access.log file.
.. Sarg failed! See the output above for details.
Its driving me nuts, would appreciate any help

Hi, Ricky!

That's not true. How about this one?

This is a help forum where answers can take hours, days, weeks, or even months to arrive in some cases. If you want instant answers, try using an IRC channel, or one of the instant messaging clients that are available.
Otherwise, more patience would be good.oz

This seems like a problem with an application. I never heard of sarge. It certainly is not a general Linux question. Sarge does not appear in any of the Suse repositories. Perhaps it would be better to find the developers or a mailing list and ask the question of them.
The best I can do is tell you to take this to heart
"Maybe you have a broken record or garbage in your access.log file."
good luck

Great advice gogalthorp, Sarg is an add on for squid, it is for analysing the access logs for squid.
in case anyone else is experiencing this problem, i resolved it by installing the previous version, looks like there is a bug in the latest version.

Just a few things for you to note about Linux Support (actually support for any OS). If you want instant help, consider getting commercial support from the distro/OS maintainer or third party consultants. If you don't want paid support, then you are at the mercy of the volunteer community. You have to realise that they are not being paid for their time and effort, so they are not obliged to even look at your question. Saying that, this community tries its best to help fellow Linux users so if your questions went unanswered, it could be that nobody here could solve your problem.
