First time installing linux, can't get realtek sound card to work
So you know this is the first time I've ever really used linux (out side of checking a web site or something on someone elses computer). So I may need more explaining then most.
I've tried YaST(it sees it as a ICH9 Family HD Audio controller) , and I've downloaded the driver from realtek (HD audio codec) after runing the install in "Konsole" it is saying that there was no card found and it asks to search for lagacy ISA cards.
I'm using a ALC888 card, on a Gigabyte MB. I did have windows installed on the computer and it works in the windows inviroment, but not in linux. I've installed openSUSE 11 x86_64 with KDE 3.2 (I think it's 3.2 it's not 4 whatever it is) I don't know if that makes a differance however. I haven't had any problems with any other drivers thus far.
