Unhappy when i reboot,i get the error "no bootable devices--strike f1 to reboot,f2 for setup

    greettings,
My system is a dual boot of windows xp sp2 and suse 10.3 linux.
using fdisk,i removed linux,fat32,fat32 ext partitions.

Ok,i tried "fixmbr","bootcfg /rebuild" and "fixboot c:" on windows recovery console and it did not solve it.I repaired windows and got the error "INF file txtsetup.sif is currupt of missing.status 18 setup cannot continue.press any key to exit".
The help page for "fixmbr" says only for x86 (64 bit).
my system architecture is 32 bit.please help am a newbie.thanks

Very likely your XP partition is not set Active. It can be set active with XP's RC but I do not know how. IF you have a Live Linux you can use fdisk /dev/xx (xx=your hdd ie:hda, hdb, sda, ext) from the console. You can use linux fdisk -l to check the boot flag (active flag).

i dont have a live linux installed
Did not make myself clear, was not talking about a linux install on the hdd but a live linux cd.

You can check to see if the XP partition is Active by booting into the Recovery Console and run 'diskpart' (I think? Can also set active but you will need to do a goggle search to find out how).

If you have a Win98 cd or floppy , can use fdisk and check /set partition active.

As far as the XP install error, try cleaning the CD and CD drive, atho there are some errors you may receive and MS site will have the correct fix for them. I did try a repair install once and had to give up due to 30+ errors of your type.

You may want to post on a MS windows site: I will try to help.
